In the past two decades, the world has encountered various virus-related epidemics, for instance severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) 2002–03, H1N1 influenza (2009), Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) 2012, Zika 2016 and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) 2019–20 [1,2].
