Covid-19 news: People in England to face fines for travel outside UK
New UK legislation will mean people in England will face a £5000 fine if they travel outside the UK or the common travel area without a reasonable excuse. Exemptions to the ban include travel for work, study or to visit a dying relative. The new law is due to come into effect on 29 March, subject to a vote by MPs on 25 March.
